The week of September 22-26 is FREE week for spillover trash and any excess trash that will not fit into your container.  This is a great opportunity for fall cleaning.  Your free day will be your regular garbage day. Trucks will be through your area on your normal garbage day to pick up any excess trash that you have at the curb.

Please remember the City cannot pick up hazardous waste, electronics (like TV's) and construction debris. A charge will still apply for appliances and tires.  We will pick up rain or shine, so make sure to get your items out prior to your pick up day.

The City of Gastonia’s slogan, “Great Place. Great People. Great Promise.” succinctly describes why people and businesses located here rarely leave. A three-time All America City and recent recipient of the U.S. Conference of Mayors top Livability Award, Gastonia is recognized as one of the area’s best places to live and work with an ideal combination of location, size, and quality of life. Those factors, combined with the City’s strategic location just minutes west of Charlotte and midway between Atlanta and North Carolina’s Research Triangle, attract both industry and new residents.
Gastonia is the largest of Gaston County’s 15 municipalities, 13th largest city in the state, and the second largest in the booming Charlotte-Gastonia-Rock Hill Metropolitan Area. Gastonia’s enviable quality of life is the result of a number of desirable qualities: friendly neighborhoods, responsive city and county government, an award winning educational system, a vibrant retail environment, state-of-the-art health care facilities, and “picture postcard” natural surroundings.
Whether you’re already familiar with our City or just getting acquainted, we invite you to learn more about what we offer our residents, business community and visitors.
