Yard Waste

Welcome to Leaf Season
During the next few months we will be collecting your leaves at the curb with our vacuum machines, and we ask that you leave your leaves loose at the curb as it will decrease the time it takes to provide this service city-wide. If you are not able to bring your leaves to the curb loose you may place them in clear plastic bags, and we will be happy to pick those up on our yard waste/brush schedule below.
During peak leaf season, we will only remove yard waste/brush from in front of your house on the following weeks:
December 2-8
January 6-10
Once peak leaf season is over, yard waste/brush service will return to a normal weekly schedule.

Do not put yard waste in your green or gray rollout carts. Your yard waste will be collected by a different crew on the same day that your garbage is collected. N. C. Law requires yard waste to be collected separate from garbage.
The following items are collected by your yard waste crew:

  • limbs (No larger than 4 feet in length or 4 inches in diameter)
  • logs (need to meet the same criteria as limbs)
  • grass clippings (contained either in clear plastic bags or old garbage cans)
  • leaves (vacuumed at the curb from October 1 to March 31st)
